Marco’s Pizza Relocates to Downtown Burlington

After nearly three decades at its Williston Road location in South Burlington, Marco’s Pizza has made a move to downtown Burlington. While initially planning to open on October 31, the launch was postponed due to equipment issues. However, fans of Marco’s can soon enjoy their favorite pizza, calzones, and sandwiches on house-baked ciabatta bread at the new address, 177 Church Street, which was previously home to Big Daddy’s Pizza.

Tiffany Deguise, the manager of Marco’s, explained that the original location had to close in early September due to a rent increase. She also confirmed that, as of June 2022, the business has a new owner, David Ritchie, who acquired Marco’s from Sean McGrath. McGrath continues to lend a hand in the kitchen at Marco’s and co-owns the Rotisserie in South Burlington with his brother, Brendan, who primarily operates that restaurant.

Deguise, who has been with Marco’s for a decade, noted that the new Burlington location offers a larger kitchen, more affordable rent, and a higher volume of walk-in customers. Although it has approximately half the seating capacity of the old location, which accommodated 50 patrons, Deguise expressed her enthusiasm for the change, stating, “It’s definitely a change, but I’m excited for it.”

Marco’s commitment to preparing fresh dough for its pizzas and ciabatta will remain unchanged. While the menu, featuring pizzas, salads, and sandwiches, will largely stay the same, the addition of a new fryer will allow for the inclusion of some new items.
