Celebrating the Ram Temple Event: A Dozen Events Across the US from New York to Washington

As the eagerly awaited Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya approaches on January 22, the enthusiasm has reached international borders, with nearly a dozen events planned across the United States to commemorate this historic occasion.

Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), shared insights into the widespread excitement, stating that celebrations are scheduled from New York Times Square to Boston, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, aligning with the ceremony in India.

Mr. Aghi highlighted the cultural, emotional, and religious significance of the Ram Temple event for the Indian American community, emphasizing the deep connection that extends beyond geographical boundaries. He noted the unity of the Indian American culture, with 5 million individuals in the United States maintaining strong emotional, economic, and religious ties.

In a globally significant gesture, the Mauritian government has declared a two-hour special break for Hindu public officers on January 22 to allow their participation in local events marking the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. The Mauritian Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, acknowledged the landmark event as a symbol of the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to attend the ceremonial installation of the idol of Shri Ram Lalla on January 22, marking the culmination of a seven-day ceremony that began on January 16 with Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha.

Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Indian envoy to the US, emphasized the significance of the Ramayana epic during an event at the US Capitol Hill, highlighting its role as a universal bridge transcending geographies and offering profound insights into various aspects of human life.

Adding to the excitement, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) of America organized an impressive Tesla musical light show in Maryland, featuring over 150 cars synchronized to the tunes of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ The event showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of the Hindu community in celebrating the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Over 40 billboards featuring Lord Ram and the Ram Temple have been erected in more than 10 states in the United States, with the VHP US chapter collaborating with Hindus from various regions to spread the message about the grand ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the birthplace of Shri Ram Lalla.

As the countdown to the grand opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya continues, these global celebrations underscore the universal significance and resonance of this historic event.
