Priced at $499 on Walmart and $499.99 on Amazon and Target, the newly unveiled PS5 “Slim” shares nearly identical specifications and features with its predecessor. It supports 4K gaming with HDR (High Dynamic Range) for vibrant colors and deep black levels, boasts up to 120fps (Frames Per Second) with 120Hz output for seamless action, and maintains backward compatibility with PS4 games, among other features. Notably, it is over 30% smaller in volume and 18% lighter.

This disc edition of the console includes a detachable 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray drive, contributing to its sleek profile when not in use. The console retains its distinctive white aesthetic with a redesigned four-panel layout, allowing for increased customization. The top two panels have a glossy finish, while the bottom two are matte. The new PS5 Slim also features four USB ports (two front-facing USB-C and two rear USB-A), HDMI out, Ethernet ports, and an upgraded 1TB onboard storage compared to the previous model’s 825GB SSD (Solid-State Drive).

In the package, purchasers will find a Sony PS5 DualSense wireless controller, an HDMI cable, and an AC power cable. Although it includes a horizontal stand, a vertical stand is not included and must be purchased separately for an additional $29.99.

The PS5 Slim model is available in bundles at Target and Walmart, featuring Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (digital download) and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, respectively. Both bundles are priced at $499 and $499.99, providing added value as the included games have a standalone value of $69.99 each. The Sony PlayStation 5 Slim (Disc Edition) bundled with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set for release on Friday, November 10.
