Despite not currently enrolled, Rodrigo had previously taken a poetry class at USC, even turning one of her assignments into a song on Guts, titled “Lacy.” She shared snapshots of the game day on her Instagram Story, featuring herself on the football field with red and gold war paint. Wearing a Trojans sweatshirt, she also posed on the sidelines with her close friend Iris Apatow, who is reportedly a USC attendee.

The “Vampire” singer further engaged with the USC community by creating a lively TikTok for the USC Athletics page. In the video, amid the energetic crowd at The Coliseum in Los Angeles, Rodrigo flashed a peace sign and enthusiastically declared, “Hey, what’s up? I’m Olivia Rodrigo, I’m at the SC, UCLA game! Fight on, whoooo!”

Despite USC’s 38-20 loss to UCLA, Rodrigo, a Grammy winner, appeared to thoroughly enjoy the game, sharing a video on her Story of USC’s pep band playing “Good 4 U” in the stands. This spirited outing with USC football fans occurred shortly after Rodrigo attended the premiere of Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, where she contributed an original song titled “Can’t Catch Me Now.” On the red carpet, she mingled with cast members, including Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, and Tom Blyth.
