“Isn’t that amazing?” she began. “Maybe you’ve known me for a little while, doing this little 10-year-old boy for 35 some years — and some of you guys for way less than that — and find out that I’m related to this superstar.”
“She’s pretty amazing,” concluded Cartwright.
“The rumors are true! Sabrina Carpenter is my niece! ,” read her TikTok video caption.
Several fans expressed their surprise in the comments. “But why does Sabrina being related to Bart Simpson make so much sense??? It really is a family attitude ,” wrote one user. “Can we hear Bart sing ‘Espresso’?! PLEASEEEEE,” asked another. “I love the proud Aunt vibes,” added a third.
Although Cartwright is best known for her Emmy-winning role as Bart Simpson, she also voices Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders, Nelson Muntz, and Maggie Simpson. Additionally, Cartwright has lent her voice to Chuckie on Rugrats, Rufus in Kim Possible, Mindy in Animaniacs, and many other familiar characters.
Carpenter has also lent her voice to children’s programming, playing characters in Phineas and Ferb before starring in Girl Meets World on Disney Channel.
Since then, Carpenter has starred in Mean Girls on Broadway, appeared in several TV shows and movies, opened for Ariana Grande, toured globally as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour opener, and achieved pop stardom.
Carpenter’s latest single, “Please Please Please,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on Monday, June 24. Her breakout hit “Espresso” landed at No. 4 on the Hot 100 that same week and peaked at No. 3 earlier in June.
“Espresso” was released just before her Coachella debut in April 2024 and was quickly met with fanfare. Listeners declared it the “Song of Summer,” and she received shoutouts from Adele, Joey King, and Milo Manheim for the catchy tune.
Both “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” are featured on Carpenter’s upcoming sixth album, Short n’ Sweet, which will be released on Aug. 23. She will also go on tour to support the album this fall.
