Philadelphia enters San Antonio riding high on a four-game winning streak, with their latest triumph being a commanding 116-98 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday in Memphis.

Reflecting on the team’s recent success, Kelly Oubre Jr. (17 pts, 5 reb, 5 ast) emphasized the positive energy within the squad, stating, “The vibes are immaculate again. We’re just trying to keep this momentum, get better, and get our rhythm as a unit again. It’s taken time, but we’re here.”

In their earlier encounter with San Antonio this season, the Sixers emerged victorious with a 133-123 win on Jan. 22 at home in South Philadelphia. Joel Embiid delivered a stellar performance, achieving a career-high 70 points along with 18 rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block. The Spurs’ rookie standout, Victor Wembanyama, also impressed with 33 points, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks in that contest.

Following their matchup against the Spurs, the Sixers will return home to close out the regular season with a three-game homestand. They will face the Detroit Pistons (13-65) on Tuesday, the Orlando Magic (45-32) on Friday, and the Brooklyn Nets (31-47) on Sunday.

As of Saturday evening, the Sixers currently occupy the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Conference standings, trailing the No. 7 Miami Heat (43-34) by just 0.5 games and the No. 6 Indiana Pacers (44-34) by 1.0 games.

In terms of their opponent, the San Antonio Spurs (19-58) have shown some resilience, winning five of their last ten games. Their most recent victory came against the New Orleans Pelicans, where they triumphed 111-109 on Friday.

Devonte’ Graham led the Spurs in scoring during that game, contributing 20 points, two rebounds, five assists, and three steals off the bench. Meanwhile, Wembanyama continued to shine, nearly securing a triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, a steal, and three blocks.

Wembanyama has been a standout performer for the Spurs in his rookie season, leading the team in scoring, rebounds, steals, and blocks. His defensive prowess is particularly noteworthy, as he tops the league in blocks by a significant margin, with Anthony Davis coming in second with 2.4 blocks per game.
