“Sopranos Star Michael Imperioli’s Broadway Debut! Unveiling the Drama, A-List Cast, and Plan B’s Bold Move in An Enemy of the People!

Michael Imperioli, renowned for his role in The Sopranos, is set to make his Broadway debut in the winter production of An Enemy of the People, starring opposite Jeremy Strong. The play, originally penned by Henrik Ibsen and adapted by Amy Herzog, will grace the Circle in the Square Theatre for a 16-week run starting on February 27, with the grand opening scheduled for March 18. Notably, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment has joined the production team, alongside previously announced producers Seaview and Patrick Catullo.

This marks Plan B’s inaugural foray into Broadway, with the company, led by Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, having gained prominence as a producer of acclaimed films like Moonlight and 12 Years A Slave. Plan B recently forged a deal with Audible for audio projects.

In his role as Dominic Di Grasso in the latest season of White Lotus, Imperioli has continued to make waves. Widely recognized for his Emmy Award-winning portrayal of Christopher in six seasons of The Sopranos, he has also featured in Hulu’s The Fool Season 2 and completed work on Paul Scrader’s film Oh Canada, starring alongside Richard Gere and Uma Thurman.

In An Enemy of the People, Imperioli takes on the character of Peter Stockmann, the brother of Jeremy Strong’s Dr. Thomas Stockmann. Dr. Stockmann, a local physician, attempts to alert the community to the dangers of the town’s contaminated spa water, facing resistance from both the townspeople and his own family. Additional cast members for the production will be unveiled at a later date.

Sam Gold is set to direct the show, with a stellar creative team that includes scenic design by dots, costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Isabella Byrd, and sound design by Mikaal Sulaiman.
