Solar Eclips

Although the Tampa Bay area won’t witness totality, Solar Eclipse where the moon entirely obscures the sun, we’ll still experience a partial solar eclipse. To safely view the eclipse, it’s crucial to have ISO-certified eclipse glasses to protect your eyes from damage. Look for the ISO certification logo on the inside of the glasses to ensure their safety. If you’re still in need of eclipse glasses, News Channel 8 will be distributing free ISO-certified glasses at our Outdoors Expo and Boat Show from April 5 to April 7 at Armature Works.

Kitchen Fun:

Get creative with eclipse-themed Solar Eclipse snacks or drinks using ingredients from your kitchen. Whether it’s moon-shaped cookies or a celestial cocktail, adding a culinary twist can make the eclipse even more enjoyable.

Eclipse Planning App:

Check out “The Eclipse App” developed by The Planetary Society and The Solar Eclipse Company. The free version offers totality times and phenomena details for any location, along with historical cloud cover data to help you plan. You can also explore communities, events, and local viewing sites. Consider upgrading to access features like a countdown to totality for your location and an hour-of-totality cloud cover forecast.

Eclipse Playlist:

Create a playlist to enhance the ambiance and build anticipation for the eclipse. Keep adding to it as suggestions pour in from fellow eclipse enthusiasts. Music can play a significant role in setting the mood for this celestial event, so curate a selection of tracks that resonate with the cosmic experience.
