“Injury Setback: Anthony Davis Sidelined Again During Lakers’ Game”
During Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Davis aggravated a left eye injury, forcing him to be sidelined for the second half.

Davis received an inadvertent hit to the face from Wolves forward Kyle Anderson late in the first quarter while scoring off an offensive rebound. Reacting immediately, Davis fell to the floor and covered his face with his hands after the play.
His putback dunk gave the Lakers a 35-30 lead with 24.2 seconds remaining in the first quarter before he headed to the locker room for evaluation and did not return.
Unfortunately, the Lakers, who were also missing LeBron James due to flu-like symptoms, struggled without Davis. The Timberwolves outscored them 46-27 in the second quarter.
This incident adds to Davis’s previous eye injury, a corneal abrasion to his left eye during the Lakers’ loss to the Golden State Warriors on March 16. In that game, he was struck in the eye by Warriors forward Trayce Jackson-Davis in the first quarter and had to leave early.
Davis had to seek medical attention from a specialist due to temporary vision impairment and a swollen eyelid caused by the injury.
Reflecting on the previous injury, Davis described experiencing blurred vision and swelling in the middle of his eye, leading to discomfort akin to having sand in his eye.
The Lakers, currently holding the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, have three games left in their regular-season schedule and are set to host the West’s No. 10 team, the Warriors, on Tuesday.
